Nathaly Paredes outstanding, Ecuador surprise winners

The fourth seeds, second place in their initial stage group, Ecuador emerged the surprise winners of the junior girls’ team title on Friday 15th March at the 2019 South American Junior and Cadet Championships in Santiago, Chile.

Lining up alongside Mylena Plaza and Alejandra Veintimilla, star of the show was Nathaly Paredes, the young lady who hails from Santo Domingo in the foothills of the Andes mountain range; on the second day of action, she remained unbeaten throughout.

Top seeds assert authority, semi-final places booked

The group stage of play concluded, the top seeded outfits all emerged successful on the opening day of play, Thursday 14th March, at the 2019 South American Junior and Cadet Championships in the Chilean capital city of Santiago.

Semi-final places and thus a medal, the colour to be decided, was the order of proceedings.
